Caloric Needs to lose weight - You should be eating 1200 (women) to 1800 (men) calories per day
There are approximately 3500 calories in a pound of stored body fat. So, if you create a 3500-calorie deficit through diet, exercise or a combination of both, you will lose one pound of body weight. (On average 75% of this is fat, 25% lean tissue) If you create a 7000 calorie deficit you will lose two pounds and so on. The calorie deficit can be achieved either by calorie-restriction alone, or by a combination of fewer calories in (diet) and more calories out (exercise). This combination of diet and exercise is best for lasting weight loss. Indeed, sustained weight loss is difficult or impossible without increased regular exercise.
If you want to lose fat, a useful guideline for lowering your calorie intake is to reduce your calories by at least 500, but not more than 1000 below your maintenance level. For people with only a small amount of weight to lose, 1000 calories will be too much of a deficit. As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.
An alternative way of calculating a safe minimum calorie-intake level is by reference to your body weight or current body weight. Reducing calories by 15-20% below your daily calorie maintenance needs is a useful start. You may increase this depending on your weight loss goals.
EVEN MORE IMPORTANT THOUGH is ph - better known as DAILY PROTEIN INTAKE.
Your mother's breast milk, when you were 0-1 year old and growing and requiring more protein than you will ever need again in your life- was only 1-2% protein. A mare's milk (Horse) is 12%. Are you starting to get the picture? Americans eat WAY TOO MUCH PROTEIN DAILY and then wonder why they have dis-ease such as cancer (a disease of acidity) or arthritis (also inflammed by excess acidity)....also most heart attacks, as proven at Yale University back in the 1970's , are caused by acidity. Is it starting to make more sense now?
Men should never eat more than 40g of protein MAX in one day. (38g for women)
To put things in perspective even more- - One BIG MAC from McDonalds packs 560 calories and a whopping 48 grams of protein in just ONE sandwich.
Proper PH and Maximum Grams of Protein Daily
As a human being, your PH (Potential for Hydrogen - better described by us at Holistic Therapy Services as your Potential for Health) should be between 7.2 and 7.4 for you to feel your best. If you have a urine ph of 5.0 you are in a state of acidosis.....you may feel tired and achy when you get up in the morning, have stiff joints, be lacking in energy, or in the worst case scenario even have some burning on urination.
What gets you to a state of acidity? DIET. Contrary to popular belief, You indeed ARE a product of what you eat...or at least of what type of ash what you eat leaves in your body. A lemon, although it is acid itself and will test so on a piece of litmus paper- will leave ALKALINE ash in the human body- meaning your ph will go UP when you eat a lemon or squeeze lemon in your water, which is one thing I do encourage my patients to do.
